Therapy
Everyone needs a Little Therapy
Therapy is the story of a psychiatry session gone horribly wrong. A young woman is trapped in her own dementia, while her doctor may or may not be contributing to her madness.
back to the start
After a decade long hiatus, this is the project that got Crowfeather Films back into making short films again. Camera and editing gear had finally come down enough in price to make it feasible for the self-taught filmmaker.
The main goal of this project was to get reacquainted with film grammar and with the logistics of video production. So many microcinema filmmakers try to hit the ball out of the park the first time out. They get their hands on some equipment and immediately try for the most ambitious project possible.
We wanted to do something simpler, to test out the equipment and our abilities, in order to gauge where our strengths and weaknesses were. Just because you watch a lot of movies doesn't mean you have an inherent ability to make one. No one thinks that watching a surgeon means you can remove a tumor. Yet plenty of people think they're the next Spielberg simply because they have lots of late fees at Blockbuster.
Naturally, the goal was also to make a good film. Given the time constraints and the limited budget, the film came out well, even receiving good reviews from sites such as Film Threat, where it received 4 stars.
